ABOUT ME

I started practicing psychotherapy over 25 years ago after completing my master's degree in clinical psychology at the Moscow State University. I received classical training in psychodynamic psychotherapy when I studied there. I continued my career in New York after arriving to the US as a refugee and got another master's degree from Hunter College. Psychotherapy is my passion and calling, not just a career. I gained expertise working with patients from various groups, populations, and cultures.

I don't believe in a "one size fits all" approach to counseling. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process in which the therapist has the necessary training and skills to help each client gain access to the resources that they already possess. My approach tends to emphasize health over illness, and the client's strength over weaknesses.
